The former Republican President Donald Trump raised 20.3 million dollars in February for his electoral campaign and had accumulated 41.9 million by the end of that month, according to his team this Wednesday on Fox News.

Trump's figures, although they represent an improvement compared to previous months, are far from those of his rival, Democratic President Joe Biden, who reported 53 million raised in February and a total of 155 million.

In January, the Republican raised about 13.8 million and in December 10.5 million, the media details.

Biden's campaign was quick to point out the difference in fundraising, and its communications director, Michael Tyler, alluded to Trump's controversial statements that "there will be a bloodbath if he loses."

"Even if he had the money, it's not a message that voters will buy," he pointed out.

On the other hand, the communication manager of the Republican's campaign, Steven Cheung, said that Americans prefer Trump and that they need to return to his America First policy "that kept our country safe and recharged the economy."

Both Trump and Biden are virtually the candidates of their respective parties for the November presidential elections, since they have obtained a sufficient number of delegates in the primaries held so far.

Their official candidacies will have to wait for the party conventions this summer.
